There are some hits and some misses in this book. It has a lot of the standard juice recipes you can find in any book - apple carrot orange; ginger carrot orange; etc. The blended juices stood out more and a couple favorites are Minty Mango and Tropical Turmeric. Three stars because the Suppers section needs to be revisited because some recipe ingredient quantities are way off. For example, the lemongrass coconut noodle “soup”. This is not a soup, it was more like an alfredo, very thick and no broth. That recipe would need 2-3x the amount of liquid to resemble soup. Next is the veggie lentil chili. DO NOT use 2 tablespoons of salt. The chili was so salty that half of one bowl was eaten and had to throw out the rest which was a shame. For the not “Super simple” snacks section the carrot coconut muffins recipe is a disaster and not simple and not cheap (coconut flour, almond flour, brown rice flour - about $25 in flour alone) The resulting full mixture was more like damp sawdust that needed to be baked for an hour (not 25 minutes) in order to somewhat resemble a muffin. This very expensive batch of muffins ended up in trash as well, not a lot of flavor and texture was way too dense. When entire prepared recipes go in the trash after following recipe to the letter, it’s very aggravating and a huge waste of time and money. For the supplied 5 day ingredient list plan on spending between $250-$350 depending on where you shop or order food from online. In addition to a juicer, you need a blender and food processor to have access to a good amount of the recipes in this book. One recipe also called for you to use your spiralizer... who has a spiralizer? oh right... NONE OF US. Just tell us to buy some zucchini noodles at the store. The superstars of this book - Almond Chia Energy Bites and the Loaded Sweet Potatoes.

This is a very good book w/ plenty of recipes. The plan is to have a combination of juices, smoothies, & meals for more satifying & less hungry results while still being healthful & effective. I haven’t seen any soy products listed & all but hemp seeds & spirulina powder (if you choose to use them) are ingredients I can find @ WM. So easy to find ingredients & not overwhelming. The 5-day grocery list is handy. There are also handy notes made for substitutions that can cut expense or adjust recipes to what’s on hand or preferred. I found these substitution notes handy since I really don’t want to guess & make a yukie tasting recipe that wastes my time or groceries. Each recipe notes the number of servings. Most are single serve, some for 2, & the meal recipes are either for 2 or 4 servings. The low suger recipes are also noted as such. The recipes all look very good & likable! For folks who want pictures of all the recipes, you won’t get that. But this is a very nice book, laid out well, easy to follow, & includes a personal eating diary for you to fill out & make this individulized to you. It can be varied, strict or less stringent according to what you want for yourself, & the juices can be smoothies instead for more fiber for diabetics if needed. It’s an easy diet to make your own according to your tastes, needs, & how much you want from it & how fast or gradually you want to change your current diet. My only real criticism is that it has no basic calorie, fat, carb, sugar, & protein info listed w/ the recipes. The author is a nitritionist, so I guess you can trust that, but I’m sure people wanting to control or just prevent diabetic or renal disease will still want & need basic nutrition information for these recipes. I would like that info too just because I want to know that for all the recipes I keep & make in my own kitchen. I’m still goving it 5 stars tho because it is a very good book & better than several others I’ve seen lately like it.

I love this book. The recipes are great and I've learned a lot about juicing. I look at it every week for my favorites and new things to juice. There are blended drinks too so even if you don't have a juicer you can use it. This is a must buy if you are interesed in juiceing and being healther.
